چکیده
Background: Pilonidal sinus is a chronic inflammatory disease predominantly involving Sacrococcygeal region. Despite advances in medical sciences, management of pilonidal still not well defined. Treatment varies from simple techniques to more sophisticated surgeries with their own pros and cons. Methods: This prospective observational study comprised forty-two patients who underwent the surgery for as per procedure described. was carried 1 May 2019 till 30 November 2022. Median age 24.5 years, ranging between 19-32 years. Sinus discharge predominant symptom our population 34 (80.94%) complaining same. Results: Mean operative time 54 minutes range 45-78 minutes. Average hospital stay 1.8 days though it ranged 3 days. Five (11.90%) developed seroma while four (9.52%) had superficial wound site infection. We two recurrences (4.76%) over follow-up period year. Conclusions: Excision primary closure effective comparable complication rates shorter off work. The can be easily performed.

Excision and Partial Primary Closure of Wound for Pilonidal Disease
Background: Pilonidal disease is a common chronic disorder of the sacrococcygeal region; and its surgical management is still a matter of discussion. The ideal therapy would be a quick cure that allowed patients to return rapidly to normal activity, that is minimally invasive with no morbidity, a low risk of complication and easy to learn. متن کاملSinotomy technique versus surgical excision with primary closure technique in pilonidal sinus disease.
Pilonidal disease is a common chronic disorder mainly seen in the sacrococcygeal region, especially in young males. Many surgical treatment modalities have been suggested, but an ideal and widely accepted treatment has yet to be established. The aim of this study was to compare quality of life of patients treated with the sinotomy technique with quality of life of patients treated with surgical...
متن کاملS-Shaped Wide Excision with Primary Closure for Extensive Chronic Pilonidal Sinus Disease
Background. The management of complex pilonidal sinus disease (PSD) with multiple pits on and beside the natal cleft is variable, contentious, and problematic. Wide excision of the sinus and reconstruction of the defect using different flap techniques have become more popular in recent years. Case Report. We report a case with a complex chronic PSD to which we applied primary closure after S-sh...
متن کاملLife-threatening streptococcal myonecrosis complicating primary wound closure after pilonidal sinus excision.
We describe a case of anaerobic streptococcal myonecrosis as a rare complication after pilonidal sinus excision with primary closure. The recognition of the disease in any patient who has early septic deterioration after a surgical procedure requires aggressive management for survival.

OBJECTIVE Pilonidal sinus (PS) is considered to be the acquired disease of especially in the sacrococcygeal region. Various primary or secondary or flap methods, accompanied by one of local curettage, phenol application, electro-cauterization and total sinus excision methods, are used for the treatment of pilonidal sinus. However, currently there is not a single widely accepted treatment method...
